Iloilo city mayor Raisa Treñas has issued on Tuesday August 12 executive order (EO 57) prohibiting the sale and consumption in any form of liquor or alcoholic beverages within a 500-meter radius of Central Philippine University (CPU) from midnight of September 6, 9 and 13 until 11:59 p.m. of September 7, 10 and 14.
Also, EO 58 “strongly enjoined” establishments within a 500-meter radius of CPU to minimize unnecessary noise and for contractors performing engineering works and/or preventive maintenance works to postpone related activities within the same radius for a similar period.
EO 59 created the coordinating committee chaired by the city mayor and co-chaired by the city administrator along with city and national government offices as members for coordination on security, traffic, health and related concerns.
CPU is one of the 14 designated sites in the country for the conduct of the September 2025 bar examinations.
