Iloilo’s bid as ‘priority’ vaccination area backed by IATF

ILOILO’S BID AS “PRIORITY” VACCINATION AREA BACKED BY IATF: chief implementer Carlito Galvez says endorsement sent to Usec. Myrna Cabotaje, chair of the Nat’l Vaccination Center.

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. earlier told Galvez of the national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for COVID-19 that the city and province of Iloilo “are contiguous areas and share the same level of economic importance.”

Iloilo City is a priority area in the national vaccination program but not Iloilo province.

Defensor also told Galvez that Iloilo is ready to accept allocations for Pfizer vaccines as it could comply with the storage requirements.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) has agreed with the provincial government of Iloilo on the use of UPV’s cold storage facilities which are compliant to the requirements of Pfizer vaccines.
