PLANNED SUIT SEEN TO UNCOVER WHO SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR BOTCHED P680 MILLION FLYOVER PROJECT

The third party consultant Abinales Engineering only bared the actual status of the failed Ungka fly-over (Ufo), a 720-meter long bridge project straddling over the Iloilo City and Pavia boundary.

It was not meant to “find fault”, an official said at the Regional development council (Rdc) meeting on Monday, May 15 as reported by the press.

On Wednesday, May 17 Iloilo City councilor Plaridel Nava briefed the city hall press corps of the planned court charges he is filing along with lawyer-collaborators Sheila Olid and Daniel Cartagena.

“This case is to find out who are the people responsible for this anomaly and give justice to the Ilonggos,” Nava said as quoted by radio reports later.

Meanwhile, the Pavia town council reportedly wants the Department of public works and highways (Dpwh) to appear again on its Monday, May 22 session even as the town mayor continue to keep silent on the nagging issue.
