ILOILO CITY – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced here on Wednesday, May 7 the successful completion of the final testing and sealing (FTS) of 414 automated counting machines (ACMs).

“We have completed the conduct of the final testing and sealing. Hopefully, this will continue until Election Day,” said Jonathan Sayno, election assistant II in an interview.

He added that the Comelec’s preparations are at 99 percent, with the final step being the dispatch of election paraphernalia in coordination with the Iloilo City Treasurer’s Office.

All ACMs will stay in various voting centers, fully guarded by the Philippine National Police, and will be opened on Election Day.

The FTS is a standard procedure to ensure that the ACMs are operational and accurately reading ballots before election day.
