“WALA KLASE” DUE TO HABAGAT, EXPECTED OCCASIONAL HEAVY RAINS BY ‘CRISING’

Iloilo city were among the several local government units in Panay and Negros to have suspended classes on Thursday, July 17 due to the inclement weather brought by Tropical Depression Crising and southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

Mayor #RaisaTreñas referred to the city disaster management office recommendation of class suspensions from pre-elementary to senior high school due to the “expected occasional heavy rains” until July 18.

The 5:00 p.m. July 16 weather bulletin of PAGASA said Crising was located 625 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

It maintained a maximum wind speed of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 55 kph while moving west-northwest at 20 kph.
Local authorities of Hamtic and Patnongon towns in Antique province also made similar precautionary announcements.

Classes are suspended in the following areas:
Kabankalan City, Binalbagan, La Castellana, and Hinobaan in Negros Occidental likewise suspended classes in all levels of public and private schools.

Negros Oriental also suspended in-person classes at all levels of public and private schools..
