An #earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 jolted 121 km east of Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia at 5:37 a.m. (local time) on Sunday, the US Geological Survey said.
A series of almost 70 earthquakes was registered in Russia’s Far Eastern region of Kamchatka in the past 24 hours, and 10 of these were felt in the region’s administrative center of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the Kamchatka office of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences said on Telegram.
MEANWHILE, there is no #tsunami threat to the Philippines, following the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that rocked Kuril Islands, Russia at 1:38 p.m. Sunday August 3, 2025, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS-DOST) said.
