EX-OFFICIO BOARD MEMBERS NAMED IN ABSENTIA COMMITTEE CHAIRS

SAN JOSE, ANTIQUE 24 JULY 2025 — The legislative board “Sangguniang Panlalawigan” (SP) of Antique province has organized the 30 standing committees during its sessions this July but witheld the names for chairmanship of 3 ex-officio board members.

Three ex-officio – Plaridel Sanchez IV for Phil. Councilors League (PCL), Kenneth Dave Gasalao for SK federation, and Julius Caezar Tajanlangit for Liga ng Barangay (LnB), and five other board members were suspended for one year in March this year by the Ombudsman for “grave misconduct and grave abuse of authority”.

“So, even if the named 3 SP members had ran for reelection and won last May12 their suspension would still be in effect,” a lawyer at the Antique capitol who begged off from being named, told HilwayNews.

For the current term 2025-2028, the PCL ex-officio member chairs the Committees on good government, oversight, and councilors’ league affairs. The SK federation president heads the youth and sports committee; while the Liga ng Barangay president chairs the barangay affairs committee.

Board member #VincentPiccioIII is the majority floor leader as chair of the Committee on rules. He also heads the public works, peace and order, and climate change committees.

Board member #KarmilaRoseDimamay chairs the Committees on ways and means; housing and land use; finance and appropriations; foreign relations, labor and employment; education; environment, natural resources, and ecology.
Board member #FernandoCorveraSr. chairs the Committees on ethics, laws and ordinances, NGOs and cooperatives, civil service, agriculture and agrarian reform.

Board member #ZoiloBernardoTubianosa chairs the Committee on health, sanitation, and social services; history and cultural heritage. Board member #DanteBeriong chairs the Committee on style; board member Emmanuel Palacios Jr. – committee on justice and human rights;

Board member Gaseva Recopuerto chairs the Committee on indigenous people (IPs); board member Joseph Eugene Alojipan chairs the Committees on tourism; family, women, children and gender concerns; board member #NoelAlamis chairs the Committees on transportation and communication; trade, commerce and indudtry; games and amusements.

The current term town councilors have yet to elect the PCL president, while the SK and Barangay federation presidents would be elected after the December 1, 2025 BSK elections.

Vice governor #GeneviveLimReyes is ex-officio member of the standing committees.
