Bold PPP initiative endorsed following inclusive multi-sectoral public consultation
ILOILO CITY, JUNE 2, 2025 — Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) secured backing last May 21, 2025 of the Iloilo City Local Development Council (LDC) for AIC’s Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Project proposal through Public Private Partnership (PPP), according to Franz Jonathan dela Fuente, AIC corporate communications and branding manager in a press release to HilwayNews.
Headed by the Iloilo City mayor, the LDC comprises the City Sanggunian appropriations committee chairman, SP ex-officio member Liga ng mga Barangay president, ex-officio SP member and SK Federation president, city punong barangays and about 25% of city NGOs, said Mayor Jerry Treñas.
“We welcome the Local Development Council’s endorsement of the Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Project. We appreciate the LDC’s recognition that the project supports the local development plan. It is an important step in moving the proposal forward to ensure water security for Ilonggos,” AIC President & Chief Executive Officer Cosette V. Canilao said.
