DENGUE CASES SURGE 76% IN ILOILO WITH 9 DEATHS RECORDED

ILOILO CITY, JUNE 2, 2025 — the province of Iloilo logged 1,838 dengue cases with 9 deaths since January to May 24, 2025, representing a 76.2 percent increase over the same period last year with 1,043 cases and 4 deaths, health office Chief Dr. Maria Socorro Quiñon reported in a meeting of the Provincial disaster risk management council late last week.

Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. said the provincial government is taking the lead in the conduct of the province-wide Limpyo Iloilo on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 4PM which aims to eliminate the breeding places of mosquito.

Meanwhile, Defensor ordered the disaster risk management office (PDRRMO) to have an inventory of assets of the province as well as those of the towns for a ready response in case of heavy rainfall and flooding.
