BACOLOD CITY — Governor Eugenio Jose ‘Bong’ Lacson and Vice governor-elect Jose Benito “Joeben” Alonso took their oath of office afternoon of Saturday, June 28 at the capitol grounds here.
Lacson is on his third term as governor. He had served as mayor of San Carlos City from 2001 to 2010, and as vice governor from 2013 to 2019.
Vice governor Alonso was the running-mate of Lacson last May 12 elections. He was a provincial board member representing the 4th district of Negros Occidental prior to his vice governor run.
The oath-taking ceremony were witnessed by provincial and town officials. Senator-elect Kiko Pangilinan graced the occasion with wife Sharon.
