Antique ramps up vaccine action plan, molecular lab set up soon

Antique Gov. Rhodora Cadiao meets with provincial health officials and municipal mayors prior to the vaccine roll-out plan.

ANTIQUE RAMPS UP VACCINE ACTION PLAN, MOLECULAR LAB SET UP SOON: the province is geared up whenever the vaccine is here, said Gov. Rhodora Cadiao.

The training for vaccine roll-out implementors, designation of facilities and centers are ongoing, according to provincial health officer Dr. Leoncio Abiera Jr., as reported today by ‘Inside Antique’ host Roger Tamon Jr.

Dr. Abiera also disclosed that Antique would have its molecular laboratory at the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in San Jose, by about the end of next month.

The provincial government has set aside P10 million for about 70,000 doses of the Covishield vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical, a British-Swedish company.

AstraZeneca has earlier authorized the Serum Institute of India, the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, to produce 1 billion doses of Covishield vaccine for distribution to developing countries in Asia.*
